Most Popular Titles of the Year...Nonfiction

The final top 10 countdown is for the nonfiction section. These are the most popular nonfiction books in my Media Center for the 2012-2013 school year.

The number 10 spot was share by John Cena by Adam Stone, Motorcyles! by Susan Goodman, Shark by Miranda McQuitty, Wild About ATVs by Jamie Poolos and The World's Fastest Machines by Marcie Aboff.

Number 9 was a three-way tie with MH-53E Sea Dragons by Carlos Alvarez, M2A2 Bradleys by Jack David, and The World's Dirtiest Machines by Jennifer Gillis.

Number 8 was also a tie.It was between Military Helicopters by E.S. Budd and Sharks by Adrienne Betz.

Number 7 was Megatooth by Patrick O'Brien.

Spot number six is another three-way tie between Dirt Bikes by Sarah Tieck, F-35 Lightning IIs by Carols Alvarez and V-22 Ospreys also by Carlos Alvarez.

In at number 5 was The World's Smartest Machines by Linda Tagliaferro.

Number 4 was Humvees by Jack David.

Number 3 was Draw 50 Cats by Lee J. Ames.

In second place with 30 checkouts was AH-IW Super Cobras by Carlos Alaverz.

And the number 1 nonfiction book checked out for 2012-2013 was Abrams Tanks by Jack David.

Most Popular Titles of the Year...Wildcat Favorites

The top 10 today will focus on the Wildcat Favorite section.  To read more about the Wildcat Favorites, go to this post.  As these are the most popular books in the Media Center, they have a higher number of checkouts than books in other sections.

In at number 10 was the first Diary of Wimpy Kid: Greg Heflfey's Journal by Jeff Kinney.

The number 9 spot was shared by Big Nate From the Top by Lincoln Peirce and I Spy Spooky Night by Walter Wick.

Number 8 was Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney and Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life by Rachel Renee Russell.

Number 7 was Diary of Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth by Jeff Kinney.

In at number 6 was Big Nate: In a Class By Himself by Lincoln Peirce.

Number 5 was Diary of  Wimpy Kid: Dog Days by Jeff Kinney.

Number 4 was Big Nate: Strikes Again by Lincoln Peirce.

The number 3 spot was shared by Big Nate: On a Roll by Lincoln Peirce and I Survived the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906 by Lauren Tarshis.

In second place was Diary of Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw by Jeff Kinney.

And with a grand total of 90 checkouts was Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney.

I wasn't really surprised to see the DOAWK in the top ten, but I thought more of the I Survived books would be there, too, because they always seem to be checked out. Maybe those books just aren't getting returned on time.  It's something to keep an eye on.

Most Popular Titles of the Year...Junior Wildcats

It's time for the top 10 Junior Wildcats!  Junior Wildcats are Easy and Nonfiction books that are on a kindergarten or first grade reading level.  I made a special section of these books to make it easy for my early readers to find books on their reading level that they could read independently.  These are the top 10 of that section.

In at number 10 was Funny Lunch by David Catrow.

The number 9 spot was captured by Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! by Mo Willems, Hello, Bumblebee Bat by Darrin Lunde, I Want to Be Somebody New! by Robert Lopshire and A Visit to the Police Station by Patricia Murphy.

Number 8 was a five-way tie between Baby Food by Saxton Freymann, Firehouse! by Mark Teague, A Kitten's Year by Nancy Raines Day, The Pigeon Wants a  Puppy by Mo Willems, and Tanks by E.S. Budd.

The Number 7 spot was held by Frog Pajama Party by Michael Dahl, Once I Ate a Pie by Patricia MacLachlan, and Polar Bear, Polar Bear What do You Hear? By Eric Carle.

Number 6 was Llama Llama Home With Mama by Anna Dewdney.

Number 5 was When Sophie Gets Angry- Really, Really Angry...by Molly Bang.

Number 4 was Bark, George by Jules Feiffer.

Number 3 was Go, Dog, Go! by P.D. Eastman.

In second place was Just Me and My Puppy by Mercer Mayer.

And the number 1 most checked out Junior Wildcat of 2012-2013 was Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman.

Most Popular Titles of the Year...Fiction

Today I will reveal the most popular fiction titles in my Media Center for 2012-2013.

Sharing the number 10 spot was Framed by Gordon Korman and Lose, Team, Lose by R.L. Stine.

At number 9, coincidentally, was Attack of the Mutant Underwear by Tom Birdseye and Attack of the Vampire Weenies by David Lubar.

Coming in at number 8 was13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison and Hideout by Gordon Korman.

School of Fear by Gitty Daneshvari was number 7.

Number 6 was a tie between The Capture by Kathryn Lasky, No Passengers Beyond This Point by Geniffer Choldenko and Tucket's Gold by Gary Paulsen.

Sharing the spot at number 5 was Matilda by Roald Dahl, The Report Card by Andrew Clements and The Sisters Club by Megan McDonald.

In at number 4 was Confectionately Yours: Save the Cupcake! by Lisa Papdemetriou.

The number 3 spot went to Nothing Wrong with a Three-Legged Dog by Graham McNamee.

The second most checked out fiction book was Swindle by Gordon Korman.

And the number one most checked out fiction book was Cloudy with a Chance of Boys, part of the Sisters Club trilogy by Megan McDonald.

Most Popular Titles of the Year...Easy Chapter Books

Ready for more popular titles?  Next up is the Easy Chapter Books.  You can read more about that section here.

The number 10 spot is shared by three books in the same series...Ready Freddy! by Abby Klein.  The three books that share this spot are Firehouse Fun!, Help! A Vampire's Coming!, and Shark Tooth Tale.

Coming in at number 9 are four titles, three of which are part of different series.  These books include The Buddy Files: The Case of the Missing Family by Dori Hillestad Butler, Can Do, Jenny Archer by Ellen Conford, Mr. Putter and Tabby Take the Train by Cynthia Rylant, and Please Write in This Book by Mary Amoto.

Number 8 was another Ready Freddy! book, A Very Crazy Christmas by Abby Klein.

In the number 7 spot are two books from two different series, Miss Child Has Gone Wild! by Dan Gutman in the My Weirder School series and Pony Pals: Detective Pony by Jeanne Betancourt in the Pony Pals Series.

 

Number 6 was a tie between Mr. Putter and Tabby Walk the Dog by Cynthia Rylant and Ready Freddy!: Tooth Trouble by Abby Klein.

The number 5 spot is shared by three books:  Horrible Harry and the Dead Letters by Suzy Kline, Horrible Harry at Halloween by Suzy Kline, and Little Horse on His Own by Betsy Byars.

Coming in at number 4 was The Buddy Files: The Case of the Mixed-Up Mutts by Dori Hillestad Butler.

At number 3 was Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the U.F.O. by David A. Adler.

The number two most checked out Easy Chapter Book was The Chocolate Touch by Patrick Skene Catling.

And the number one most checked out Easy Chapter Book for the year was Little Horse by Betsy Byars.
