Librarians on the Web

I am on vacation right now in Florida...wohoo!  (Praying that it doesn't rain the whole time we're there.)  But that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy some good library/media center blog posts.

I have some posts scheduled, but you can also check out the library media blogs in my blog roll or on Sharing the Shelves.  And if you don't see yours listed, feel free to leave a link to your blog in the comments on this page or add your link on Sharing the Shelves.  Let's share our love of all things library!

P.S.  If you are interested in blogging for Sharing the Shelves, just shoot me an email.  jnase1@gmail.com Sharing the Shelves is a place to share library/media center ideas with other teacher librarians and media specialists. I'd love to add you to the list of authors!

Share Your Ideas with Others

If you haven't heard, AASL is sponsoring School Library Month in April, so it's the perfect time to share what you are doing in your library with others to promote school libraries and advocate for teacher librarians and media specialists.  The AASL website has some great ideas for advocacy activities which you can get to here. And I bet you or a SLMS or teacher librarian you know has some great ideas for lessons, library centers, organization, check out or other media center related activities. Aren't you just dying to share these great ideas?  Why not share them on Sharing the Shelves, a collaborative blog for SLMS and teacher librarians like yourself?

STS is looking for more guest bloggers so if you have an idea you think is great, don't keep it to yourself!  Email me (jnase1@gmail.com) and let me know if you're interested.  I will add you as a contributor and you can get to sharing!  The more ideas that are shared the better the resource Sharing the Shelves becomes. So don't just sit there! Send me an email! And thanks for sharing the shelves with others!

Connecting With Other SLMS

So I know some of my librarian and media specialist readers out there have some great ideas they are implementing in their libraries and media centers that they'd looooove to share with others.  I have the perfect place for you to do that.  It's a blog called Sharing the Shelves.  Ever heard of it?

I created this blog several months ago as a place for public and school librarians and media specialists to share all the great things going on in their libraries and media centers as well as a place to connect with other librarians and media specialists.  There are links to media lessons, freebies, Pinterest boards of other librarians and media specialists, TpT stores of librarians and media specialists, and TN stores of librarians and media specialists.  You can even add your own links to these items.

Right now, I am looking for more contributors on this collaborative blog.  There is not a required number of posts; just share what you think others would find helpful when you get the urge to.  If this sounds interesting to you, just shoot me an email (jnase1@gmail.com) and I will add you as a contributor.  And thanks for sharing the shelves!
